CLEANTEXT() Description

The function CLEANEXT() is designed to clean the text from all characters except letters.

Syntax:

=CLEANTEXT(Text)

Parameters:

• Text: Text to be cleared of non-alphanumeric characters.

Example Usage

The CLEANTEXT() function is easy to use. All you have to do is enter any text and Excel will automatically strip it of all characters except letters of the alphabet:

=CLEANTEXT(Text)

We will have the following result:

This example uses the following values:

• Text: A2 - Text to clear ("Invoice #100235 (21.05.23)") .

After that, this function will be available in all files that will be opened in Excel.
