Break Case Function for Excel (Calc)

BREAKCASE() Description

The BREAKCASE() function is designed for splitting text with delimiters into separate words, meaning the function returns the result in the following format: «break case function».

Break Case first breaks a string of words separated by a space, hyphen, or underscore into individual elements, then converts all words to lowercase and combines them into a single sentence with an empty separator (" ").

The BREAKCASE() function can be useful in programming for converting variable names according to accepted coding conventions (coding conventions).

Main Characteristics of the BREAKCASE Function

Syntax:

=BREAKCASE(Text)

Parameters:

• Text: Any text in which the letter case needs to be changed.

Example of Use

The BREAKCASE() function is easy to use. You just need to enter any text into the formula, and Excel (Calc) will automatically convert it to the new case:

=BREAKCASE(Text)
