CONCATIF() Description

The CONCATIF() function is designed to combine text from different cells based on a specified condition.

Main Features of the CONCATIF Function

Syntax:

=CONCATIF(LookupValue; LookupArray; ReturnArray; [Delimiter])

Parameters:

• LookupValue: The meaning we are looking for.
• LookupArray: The column in which we are searching.
• ReturnArray: The column from which we return the associated value.
• [Delimiter]: Optional. The separator for the found values. The default is a semicolon (;).

Example Usage

The CONCATIF() function is easy to use. You just need to specify the search range and the column from which the values will be taken and LO Calc will automatically combine all common values into one cell using the specified separator:

=CONCATIF(LookupValue; {Lookup Array}; {Return Array}; Delimiter)

We will have the following result:

This example uses the following values:

• LookupValue: A3 - The value we are looking for ("John") .
• LookupArray: A9:A18 - Search range ({Lookup Array}) .
• ReturnArray: B9:B18 - The range from which we return the value ({Return Array}) .
• Delimiter: - We use a comma with a space as a separator (", ") .
