CONCATIF() Description

The CONCATIF() function is designed to connect text from different cells according to a given condition.

Syntax:

=CONCATIF(LookupValue; LookupArray; ReturnArray; [Delimiter])

Parameters:

• LookupValue: The value we are looking for.
• LookupArray: The column in which we search.
• ReturnArray: The column from which we return the associated value.
• [Delimiter]: Optional. Separator of related values. By default, a semicolon (;) is used.

Example Usage

The CONCATIF() function is easy to use. You just need to specify the search range and the column from which the values will be taken and LibreOffice Calc will automatically combine all common values into one cell using the specified separator:

=CONCATIF("John"; {Lookup Array}; {Return Array}; ", ")

We will have the following result:

This example uses the following values:

• LookupValue: A3 - The value we are looking for ("John") .
• LookupArray: A9:A18 - Range to search ({Lookup Array}) .
• ReturnArray: B9:B18 - The range from which we return the value ({Return Array}) .
• Delimiter: ", " - We use a comma with a space as a separator.

Extension "YouLibreCalc.oxt"

You can use the function CONCATIF() by setting the extension " YouLibreCalc.oxt ". After that, this function will be available in all files that will be opened in LibreOffice Calc.
