GETDATE() Description

The GETDATE() function is designed to get dates from text.

Syntax:

=GETDATE(Text; Entry)

Parameters:

• Text: The text from which you want to get the dates.
• Entry: Serial number (entry) of the required date. It can also have a negative value, which means searching for an entry from the end of the tape. If the value is 0 - returns all occurrences.

Example Usage

The GETDATE() function is easy to use. You just need to enter any text and specify the serial number of the required date, and LibreOffice Calc will automatically return the specified entry:

=GETDATE("Invoice #100235/001 (25.01.2023)"; 0)

We will have the following result:

This example uses the following values:

• Text: A3 - The text from which you need to get the dates ("Invoice #100235/001 (25.01.2023)") .
• Entry: B3 - Display all entries (0) .

Extension "YouLibreCalc.oxt"

You can use the GETDATE() function by setting the extension " YouLibreCalc.oxt ". After that, this function will be available in all files that will be opened in LibreOffice Calc.
