GETNUMBER() Description

The GETNUMBER() function is designed to get numbers from text.

Syntax:

=GETNUMBER(Text; Entry)

Parameters:

• Text: Text with numbers from which numbers are to be obtained.
• Entry: Serial number (entry) of the required number. It can also have a negative value, which means searching for an entry from the end of the tape. If the value is 0 - returns all occurrences.

Example Usage

The GETNUMBER() function is easy to use. You just need to enter any text with numbers and specify the sequence number of the required number, and LibreOffice Calc will automatically return the specified entry:

=GETNUMBER("Invoice #100235/001"; 0)

We will have the following result:

This example uses the following values:

• Text: A3 - Text from which you need to get numbers ("Invoice #100235/001") .
• Entry: B3 - Display all entries (0) .

Extension "YouLibreCalc.oxt"

You can use the GETNUMBER() function by setting the extension " YouLibreCalc.oxt ". After that, this function will be available in all files that will be opened in LibreOffice Calc.
