GETNUMBER() Description

The GETNUMBER() function is designed to retrieve numbers from text.

Main Features of the GETNUMBER Function

Syntax:

=GETNUMBER(Text; Entry)

Parameters:

• Text: Text with numbers from which you need to extract numbers.
• Entry: The sequence number (occurrence) of the required number. It can also have a negative value, which means searching for an occurrence from the end of the string. If the value is 0, it returns all occurrences.

Example Usage

The GETNUMBER() function is easy to use. You just need to enter any text with numbers and specify the ordinal number of the required number, and LO Calc will automatically return the specified entry:

=GETNUMBER(Text; Entry)

We will have the following result:

This example uses the following values:

• Text: A3 - Text from which you need to get numbers ("Invoice #100235/001") .
• Entry: B3 - Display all entries (0) .
