GETSEX() Description

The GETSEX() function returns the gender attribute (male/female/unspecified) by parsing the first name, last name, and middle name.

Names can be written in Ukrainian, English, and Russian.

Syntax:

=GETSEX(Name)

Parameters:

• Name: A cell with a person's name.

Example Usage

The GETSEX() function is easy to use. You just need to specify the cell with the person's name and Excel will automatically determine her gender:

=GETSEX(Name)

This example uses the following values:

• Name: A3 - The cell containing the person's name ("John Brown") .

After that, this function will be available in all files that are opened in Excel .
