PROFILE() Description

The PROFILE() function is designed to retrieve company data directly from Yahoo Finance website (finance.yahoo.com) by the specified stock symbol (for example, AAPL, NVDA) and selected data type.

This function is convenient for creating stock trackers in tables Excel (LibreOffice Calc) and will be useful for investors, traders, and financial analysts.

Key Features of the Function PROFILE

Syntax:

=PROFILE(Ticker; [Data Type])

Parameters:

• Ticker: Stock symbol of the company's shares.
• [Data Type]: (Optional) Data type: "longName", "industry", "sector", "website" and others. By default, the company name is used ("longName").

Example Usage

The PROFILE() function is easy to use. You just need to specify the cell with the company's stock code and the required data type, and Excel (Calc) will automatically import the specified company information:

=PROFILE(Ticker; Data Type)

We will get the following result:

In this example, the following values are used:

• Ticker: B1 - A cell containing the company's stock code ("AAPL").
• Data Type: A5 -Data type ("industry").
