Quick entry of today's date (TODAY)

YouLibreCalc for Excel logo

Description

Let's say you need Excel to display today's current date every time you open the file. In this case, you can use the formula TODAY() .

But there is an easier way to do it. You can use a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + ; ) .

The difference between these two approaches will be only in the later displayed dates. Function TODAY() changes the actual date every day. If you use hotkeys (Ctrl + ; ) , then the date will be displayed without any changes when the file is opened again (the value of the date on the input date will be displayed).

So use a method that depends on your goals.
