Checking the correctness of entered data

Description

Suppose that we need to enter values of a strictly limited size into certain cells. For example, it can be a postal code, which must consist only of 6 symbols

But most often, when working in a hurry, errors in the form of a larger or smaller number of characters creep into such data. Therefore, for certain cells, you can limit the number of characters that can be entered by a certain number.

To do this, select the cells, select from the menu "Data - Check" . In the window in the graph "Data Type" we choose "Text length" , in the graph "Value" - "Equals" , and we indicate the "length" - «6» (for the index).

In the "error message" tab, you can give an individual name and message about this error. And we click ОК .

Now, when you try to enter the values in the cells you specified, they are not equal in length 6 characters, an error message will appear. Moreover, it will not work to enter data of a different size. If the length limit is not essential for you, then in the tab "Error Message" select an item "Warning" , but not "Stop" as default.

An error message will now appear, but you will be given the option to enter a different size value.
