Import of exchange rates from the website of the Central Bank of the EU

NBEU() Description

The NBEU() function is designed to automatically obtain the value of the official euro exchange rate directly from website of the Central Bank of the European Union (ecb.eu) by the specified code and date.

The NBEU function makes working with exchange rates much easier, especially for those who work in finance or keep records in different currencies. Instead of manually entering the rates, you just need to use this function to get up-to-date data.

Syntax:

=NBEU(CurrCode; CurrDate; [Modifier])

Parameters:

• CurrCode: Letter code of the currency for which you want to get the exchange rate.
• CurrDate: The date of setting the exchange rate.
• [Modifier]: (Optional) The type of data display. Calculation base: 0 - Euro, 1 - foreign currency. By default, Euro is used, i.e. the value is "0".

Example Usage

The NBEU() function is easy to use. You just need to enter the currency code and the date in the corresponding cells of the formula, and LibreOffice Calc will automatically get the current exchange rate:

=NBEU("USD"; "01.03.23")

This example uses the following values:

• CurrCode: A2 - the letter code of the United States dollar ("USD").
• CurrDate: D1 - rate setting date ("03.01.23").

You can use the NBEU() function by installing the extension YLC_Utilities.oxt .

After that, this function will be available in all files that will be opened in LibreOffice Calc.
